Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for ST Students

Objective:-

  • The Objective of the scheme is to improve the educational status and arrest the tendency of drop-outs of Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes Students by way of providing financial assistance to the families of such students who are otherwise unable to send them to schools due to poverty.

Eligibility:-

  • The applicant should be a bonafide resident of the State of Goa.
  • The applicant should be a regular Student of an institution.
  • The combined annual income of the parents/guardians of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 5,00,000/- per annum.
  • The applicant is not residing and receiving any maintenance grant in any institution under the Government or local bodies or private organizations receiving grants-in-aid from local or the Central Government.
  • The applicant will not be eligible to receive stipends or scholarships from any other source.
  • The applicant should belong to Scheduled Tribes.
  • The Student shall not be eligible twice to receive the award of stipends in the same standard.

Assistance:-

Other Conditions:

  • All eligible applicants whose annual family income is up to ₹2.50 lakh shall apply under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Pre-Matric Scholarship for needy Scheduled Tribe (ST) students studying in classes IXth and Xth on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), as well as Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Tribe students studying in class Vth to Xth on Chief Minister's Scholarship Portal.
  • If an applicant fails to apply on National Scholarship Portal and applies only for Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Tribe students studying in class Vth to Xth on Chief Minister’s Scholarship Portal, the benefit will be limited to the difference of amount between Central Pre-Matric Scholarship and the State Pre-Matric Scholarship.
  • Those applicants whose annual family income is above ₹2.50 lakh and upto ₹5.00 lakh shall apply under Pre-matric scholarship scheme on Chief Minister’s Scholarship Portal only.
  • If the student's family income limit is above ₹2.50 lakh and upto ₹5.00 lakh then in such cases the student is eligible only for the state scheme and the full amount of scholarship along with meritorious amount shall be paid to the student under State Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Tribe students studying in class Vth to Xth.

Students applying first time for the Scheme shall be treated as fresh applicants and shall attach all required documents. Also Students who had applied during the academic year 2022-23 onwards shall be treated as renewal students.

Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana for ST Students

Objective:-

  • Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana scheme aims to provide additional financial assistance to the ST students as an additional support to Post Matric Scholarship to meet the expenses on food and travel. It also aims to provide additional allowance to cover the expenses of ST students with disability as an additional support to the Post Matric Scholarship to meet the expenses of disabled students.

Eligibility:-

1. ST students must be eligible for Centrally Sponsored Post Matric Scholarship during the current Academic Year.
2. Student should belong to Scheduled Tribes Community in State of Goa. Income of Parents/Guardians should not exceed Rs. 5.00 lakh per annum. Student should be regular, full time student studying in a recognized Institution/University. Scholarship for studying in any class will be available for only for one year. If a student has to repeat a class, he/she shall not be eligible to get scholarship for second time in the same class.

Assistance:-

• Additional Maintenance allowance of Rs. 900/- p.m. for day scholar and Rs. 1,800/- p.m. for those staying in hostel during the academic year (for ten months).
• Additional disability allowance of Rs. 900/- p.m. during the academic year (for a period of ten months) is given.

Documents required for renewal applications under Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana Scheme:
For Renewal applications students shall submit the online application by uploading documents and submit the application to concerned Institute. The same are then verified by the Nodal Officers from Institute to complete the application. Department shall then take necessary action to further process the application. Below mentioned documents are required to be uploaded:-

Merit Based Scholarship Scheme for ST Students

Objective:-

  • Objective of the “Merit Based Award” and recognition of high performance in the Board Exams of SSC and HSSC in the State of Goa scheme is to motivate students by giving Merit Based Award on the benchmark of the performance and to provide financial incentives to high performing students are economically weak.

Eligibility:-

1. Felicitation of Rank Holder Students:- Under the Schemes, amongst the ST students, First Five Rank Holders of SSC, First Five rank Holder of HSSC board exams (separately for all the streams of Science, Commerce, Arts and Vocational) will be felicitated in public function. There are no restrictions on the basis of income ceiling.
2. Merit Based Award for ST students whose Annual Family Income is less than Rs. 5.00 lakh per annum having secured the requisite bench mark percentage.

Assistance:-

• The Benefit is given as ₹ 20,000 for the first five rank holders of SSC &HSSC Boards Exam and
• ₹6,000/- for 50% to 59.99% of SSC & HSSC Board exams
• ₹ 9,600/- for 60% to 69.99% of SSC & HSSC Board exams
• ₹ 12,000/- for 70% to 74.99% of SSC & HSSC Board exams
• ₹ 18,000/- will be given for 75% &above of SSC & HSSC Board exams

Home Nursing Scheme for ST Students

Objective:-

  • The objective of the Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students belonging to Scheduled Tribe in order to enable them to pursue Home Nursing courses.

Eligibility:-

(i) The Scholarship will be given to pursue the following courses from an institution recognized by the State/Central Goverment :-
        (a) Certificate Course in Home of duration of at least six months but less than 12 months.
        (b) Diploma in Home Nursing of duration of one year or more.
        (c) Degree in Nursing of duration of three years.
        (d) Health Worker Course of duration of one year.

(ii) Students belonging to ST communities who get admission in an institution recognized by the State/Central Government to pursue above mentioned Home Nursing courses, shall be eligible for the scholarship.

(iii) The scholarship shall be awarded to the regular student who is born in Goa and domiciled in Goa for at least 15 years.

(iv) A scholarship holder under this Scheme shall not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the same course.

(v) The annual income of the parent or guardian of student should not exceed Rs. 6 lakhs from all sources.

(vi) The application from the students duly recommended by the Head of Institution shall be received in the Directorate of Tribal Welfare.

(vii) Scholarship will not be paid during internship/housemanship or for a practical training if the student is in receipt of some remuneration during the internship period or some allowance/stipend during the practical training.

Eklavya Prashikshan Yojana

Objective:-

  • The Eklavya Prashikshan Yojana is a scholarship scheme launched by the Department of Tribal Welfare, Government of Goa. It provides financial assistance for coaching classes to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students studying in Class X, XI (Science), and XII (Arts, Science, and Commerce). The scheme prepares students for professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, Law, CA, Paramedical Sciences, etc.

Eligibility:-

(i) The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.

(ii) The student must be a regular, full-time student in a Government/Recognized School in Goa.

(iii) Coaching fee reimbursement is allowed only once per class. If a student fails and repeats the same class, reimbursement will not be provided again.


Exclusions:-

(i) Students pursuing courses through open schooling are not eligible.

Coaching Fee Reimbursement Subjects:-

  • First Installment (50%): Paid during the First Term upon submission of the fee receipt.
  • Second Installment (25%): Paid after submitting the First Term Attendance Certificate.

The reimbursement amount is disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the student's bank account upon submission of:

Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana for SC Students

  • To provide additional financial assistance to the SC students as the maintenance allowance given under the Post Matric Scholarship is inadequate to meet the expenses on food and travel. It also aims to provide additional allowance to cover the expenses of SC students with Disability as the disability allowances given under, the Post Matric Scholarship is not sufficient to meet the expenses of disabled students.

Eligibility:-

SC students must have availed or be eligible for centrally sponsored Post Matric Scholarship during the current academic year.

Assistance:-

(a) Additional maintenance allowance of Rs. 750/- p.m. for Day Scholar and Rs. 1500/- p.m. for those staying in Hostel during the academic year (for ten months).

(b) Additional disability allowance of Rs. 750/- p.m. during the academic year (for a period of ten months) is given.

  • To provide additional financial assistance to the Dhangar students as the maintenance allowance given under the Post Matric Scholarship is inadequate to meet the expenses on food and travel. It also aims to provide additional allowance to cover the expenses of Dhangar students with Disability as the disability allowances given under, the Post Matric Scholarship is not sufficient to meet the expenses of disabled students.

Eligibility:-

Dhangar students must have availed or eligible for centrally sponsored Post Matric Scholarship during the current academic year.

Assistance:-

(a) Additional maintenance allowance of Rs. 750/- p.m. for Day Scholar and Rs. 1500/- p.m. for those staying in Hostel during the academic year (for ten months).

(b) Additional disability allowance of Rs. 750/- p.m. during the academic year (for a period of ten months) is given.

Objective:-

  • To motivate students by giving merit based Award based on the benchmark of the performance and to provide financial incentive to high performing students who are economically weak.

Eligibility:-

(A) Felicitation of Rank Holders Students:- Under the scheme, amongst the SC students, First Five Rank Holders of SSC, First Five Rank Holders of HSSC Board exams (separately for all the streams of Science, Commerce, Arts and Vocational) will be felicitated in public function. Certificate of Appreciation will be given at the time of felicitation. Financial award of Rs. 20,000/- will be transferred electronically in the Bank Account of the Rank Holder Students. There is no restrictions on the basis of income ceiling.

(B) Merit based Award:- For SC students whose annual family income is less than Rupees two lakhs having secured the requisite bench mark percentage.

Benefit/Scholarship Amount:-

(a) Students securing marks in the range (between 50% to 59.99%) will be given a Scholarship financial award of Rs. 5000/-.

(b) Students securing marks in the range (between 60% to 69.99%) will be given a financial award of Rs. 8000/-.

(c) Students securing marks in the range (between 70% to 74.9%) will be given a financial award of Rs. 10,000/-.

(d) Students securing 75% marks and above will be given a financial award of Rs. 15000/-.

Home Nursing Scholarship Scheme

Objective:-

  • These scholarships are available for studies in India only and shall be awarded to SC \ OBC \ Minority and Disable through the Directorate of Social Welfare of the Government of Goa.

Eligibility:-

(i) The Scholarship will be given to pursue the following courses from an institution recognized by the State/Central Goverment :-
        (a) Certificate Course in Home of duration of at least six months.
        (b) Diploma in Home Nursing of duration of one year or more.
        (c) Degree in Nursing of duration of three years.
        (d) Health Worker Course of duration of one year or more.

(ii) Students, who get admission in an institution recognized by the State/Central Government to pursue above mentioned courses, shall be ebgible for the scholarship.

(iii) The Scholarship shall be awarded to a regular student of Goan Origin.

(iv) A scholarship holder under this scheme shall not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the same course.

(v) The annual income of the parent or guardian of student shall not exceed Rs 1.50 lakh from all sources.

(vi) Scholarship will not be paid during internship/housemanship or for a practical training if the student is in receipt of any remuneration during such internship period or any allowance/stipend during the practical training.

Kanya Dhan Scheme for SC Students

Objective:-

  • The scheme "Kanya Dhan" will promote education among the girl children of the Scheduled Caste Communities and further to assist these weaker sections of the society.

Eligibility:-

(1) The girl child who has passed 10th Standard of examination and appears in the 11th Standard of any stream (Science/Arts/Commerce/Vocational/ITI) is eligible under the scheme.

(2) Maximum 2 girls children of each family are entitled under the scheme.

Assistance:-

An amount of Rs. 25,000/- will be provided by way of fixed deposit in the name of the girl child and the officer nominated by the Government. This amount will be given to the beneficiaries only when she passes 12th standard board examination or its equivalent examination in three attempts or within two years of first attempt whichever is earlier otherwise the money shall be forfeited and credited to Government Treasury.

Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme (Saral Vidya Sahay) for SC and OBC (V to VIII)

Objective:-

  • The scheme aims to support, through financial assistance, parents of children belonging to Schedules Caste and Other Backward Classes for education of their wards studying at the Pre-Matric stage so that their participation improves, the incidence of drop-out especially in the transition from the primary to the next level and elementary to the secondary stage is minimized, they perform better and have a better chance of progressing to the Post-matric stage of education.

Eligibility:-

i. The students should be studying in class Vth and VIIIth on a full time basis.

ii. They should belong to a Scheduled Caste / Other Backard Class.

iii. Their Parent/Guardian's income should not exceed Rs. 1.20 lakh per annum.

Assistance:-

With effect from 2022-23, the students shall be given a consolidated academic allowance, as follows:
     1. As per Stipend under Saral Vidya Sahay Scheme - Rs. 325 per month (for 11 months) / (3575 Per Annum)
     2. As per Meritorious Scholarship Scheme - Rs. 900 /- per annum for class Vth to VIth and Rs. 1000 /- per annum for class VIIth to VIIIth.

Stipend Scholarship Scheme for SC/OBC Students

Objective:-

  • The scheme aims to support, through financial assistance, parents of children belonging to Schedules Caste for education of their wards studying at the Pre-Matric stage so that their participation improves, the incidence of drop-out especially in the transition from the primary to the next level and elementary to the secondary stage is minimized, they perform better and have a better chance of progressing to the Post-matric stage of education.

Eligibility:-

i. The students should be studying in class IX and X on a full time basis.

ii. They should belong to a Scheduled Caste/ Other Backward Class.

iii. Their Parent/Guardian's income should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum.

Assistance:-

With effect from 2022-23, the students shall be given a consolidated academic allowance, as follows:
     Day Scholar- Rs. 3500 per annum
     Hosteller- Rs. 7000 per annum

(i) In addition, a 10% extra allowance shall be given to Divyang (Disabled) students. The disability as defined under the relevant Section of Right of the persons with Disability Act, 2016. The appropriate Government shall designate persons, having requisite qualifications and experience, as certifying authorities, who shall be competent to issue the certificate of disability.

Pre-Matric Scholarship scheme for the children of parents/guardians engaged in unclean and hazardous occupation.

Objective:-

  • The scheme aims to support, through financial assistance, parents of children belonging to Other Disadvantaged Categories for education of their wards studying at the Pre-Matric stage so that their participation improves, the incidence of drop-out especially in the transition from the primary to the next level and elementary to the secondary stage is minimized, they perform better and have a better chance of progressing to the Post-matric stage of education.

Eligibility:-

Pre-Matric scholarship for children of parents/guardians engaged in Unclean and hazardous Occupation

i. The students should be studying in classes I to X on a full time basis

ii. Scholarship will be admissible to the children/wards of parents/guardians who, irrespective of their caste/religion belong to one of the following categories;

a. Persons who are Manual Scavengers as defined under section 2(I) (g) of Manual Scavengers Act 2013

b. Tanners & Flayers;

c. Waste pickers and

d. Persons engaged in hazardous cleaning as defined in Section 2(1) (d) of Manual Scavengers Act 2013. For the purpose of classification in this category, the eligible candidates will be required to submit a certificate from District Social Welfare officer/ identified officer of Local body/ Civic Agency/any such authority as designated by State Government.

iii. There is no family income ceiling under this component of the Scheme.

A scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other educational scholarship for the purpose of studying in class I to X. If awarded any other educational scholarship for studying in classes I to X, the students can avail of either of the two scholarships as per his/her choice and should inform the awarding authority to the Head of the Institution about the option made.

Assistance:-

With effect from 2022-23, the students shall be given a consolidated academic allowance, as follows:
     Day Scholar- Rs. 3500 per annum

Incentive Scholarship to Meritorious Students at all Govt and Aided from V-X


Objective:-

  • The main objective of the scheme is to identify the hidden talent of the students at the end of Std. IV studying in vernacular medium in Rural, Urban and Slum area, in Government as well as Government Aided schools only to provide them financial assistance as an incentive for getting good education upto Std. X.

Eligibility:-

  • Applicable to students in Govt. & aided schools from:
    1) General Category
    2) SC/ST/OBC
    3) Children of Landless Labourers
    4) Children belonging to slum areas.

    All the students who score 60% and above marks in the first terminal examination of Std. IV are eligible to answer the qualifying examination.(Relaxation of 5% for the candidates belonging to Reserved Category) The candidates shall have to answer the qualifying scholarship examination conducted by the State Council of Education Research & Training. The qualifying examination shall be held a week before the last day of the academic year preferably on Sunday.

Financial Assistance for Education of Children with Special Needs (I - XII)


Objective:-

  • The main objective of this scheme is to improve the educational opportunities for children with special needs by providing financial assistance to their parents. This initiative is aimed at making children with disabilities independent and contributing members of their families, instead of becoming a liability.

Eligibility:-

  • Children with special needs studying from Std. I to XII in recognised Govternment & aided schools in Goa, falling under the following categories:
    • Mentally Challenged
    • Slow Learner/Learning Disabled
    • Autistic child
    • Hearing & Speech Impaired
    • Orthopedically Disabled (including polio and accident cases)
    • Visually Impaired

Assistance Provided:-

  • Grant towards Books/NoteBooks and stationery– ₹1500
  • Travelling allowance(not availing school bus) – ₹550/- month (subject to 40% monthly attendance)
  • Expenses on equipment and therapeutic needs/medical expenses(certified by Competent Authority) – Actual expenses up to ₹5000 once in 3 years (to be provided in the first year)

Scholarship/Assistance from State Government or Central Government:-

  • One time grant to Rs. 25,00,000/- will be sanctioned to purchase a disable friendly bus(24 seaters) for Children with special needs in the ratio of 1:24 students. Slow learners and students with learning disabilities will not be included in calculating ratio for this facility.

INSTITUTE OF GOA STATE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME TO THE CADETS STUDENTS IN RASHTRIYA INDIAN MILITARY COLLEGE, DEHRADUN


Objective:-

  • To encourage Goan students to join defence services through enrollment in Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun and Sainik School, Satara. The scheme provides annual financial support to cadets from Goa.

About RIMC:-

  • Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), is a leading institution in country for Cadets from Class VIII to Class XII from all over India. State-wise vacancies have been earmarked for admission to this college for those who qualify in an All India Entrance examinations conducted biannually by respective States/UTs. The admission at RIMC is purely on merit basis and the candidates who qualify in written exam have to undergo viva-voice and medical examination.
  • Two vacancies are earmarked for the State of Goa per year for the candidate hailing from Goa. As per vacancy allotted to Goa State, the total candidates for the term should be 10.The amount of Rs.20,000/- per year is sponsored by Govt. Of Goa under this Scheme, which is enhance to an amount of Rs.50,000/- from the academic year 2016-17.

Pattern of Assistance:-

  • Pattern of Assistance State Government shall consider awarding State scholarship of Rs.50,000/- per cadet per annum for 10 cadets belonging to State of Goa studying in the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC)
  • The State scholarship @ of Rs.50,000/- per cadet 10 cadets (per class 2 cadets) is Rs.50,000 x 10 cadets = Rs.5,00,000/- per annum from std. VIII to XII.

Eligibility & Application Process:-

  • Any regular Students enrolled from Std. VIII to XII in the Government and Non-Government recognized Schools under the Directorate of Education, Government of Goa, is eligible to apply under this Scheme from the Academic year, 2013-2014 onwards.
  • The Students who qualify in All India Entrance Examination conducted biannually will be eligible to apply under this Scheme.
  • The Students shall submit the application in prescribed ‘format’ along with the ‘Affidavit’ of the parent/guardian on a twenty rupees stamp paper completed in all respect and Bonafide Certificate from the School.
  • The eligible Student should submit an application along with fee receipt issued by (RIMC) Rashtriya Indian Military College Deharadun and Sainik School, Satara of Maharashtra or any other Army School in India to the Directorate of Education, Porvorim-Bardez-Goa under this Scheme for claim.

Providing free Laptops to meritorious students belonging to SC/ST Communities.


Objective:-

  • Under this scheme, free laptops are provided to meritorious students of the SC/ST communities who have successfully passed the Class X examination conducted by the Goa Board.

Eligibility:-

  • The student should be born in the State of Goa, or have at least one parent born in Goa.
  • The student must belong to ST or SC community.
  • The student is required to pass Class X examination of the Goa Board in the first attempt.
  • The student has to score at least 70% aggregate marks in the Class X examination of the Goa Board.
  • The student should be schooling in the taluka in which he/she is considered meritorious.
  • In case of a male student, he should feature in the Top 5 among the Class X male (ST/SC) students of the taluka.
  • In case of a female student, she should feature in the Top 5 among the Class X female (ST/SC) students of the taluka.

Interest Free Education Loan Scheme

Objective:-

  • The main objectives of the scheme are to promote pursuit of higher education and technical education by younger population of Goa, to ensure that economic conditions and financial difficulties do not come in the way of such pursuit and, to assist eligible candidates by way of interest free loans to undertake approved degree and diploma courses at undergraduate and post graduate levels, in India or abroad.

Eligibility for Grant of Loans:-

Any person below the age of 30 years, who has been a resident of Goa for a period of 15 years, shall be entitled to apply for, and receive, loans under the Scheme provided he/she fulfills all the following conditions:

1. Has passed the qualifying examination i.e
  • a) Std Xth or XIIth for professional / non-professional courses at diploma / degree level from any of the recognized institutions situated from Goa.
  • b) Graduation from recognized institutions in Goa for postgraduate courses.
  • c) Graduation from institutions outside Goa only if both the parents are residing in Goa for 15 years.
  • d) Post Graduation for PhD courses.
2. Percentage criteria
  • a) Studies in India: Has obtained 55% or more marks in the qualifying examination. (For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories, the qualifying marks will be relaxable by 10%).
  • b) Studies abroad (outside India): Has obtained 60% or more marks in the qualifying examination. (For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories, the qualifying marks will be relaxable by 10%).
3. Meets the prescribed eligibility conditions relating to economic/financial constraints.
  • a) Applicants whose total family income, including the in come of both the parents not exceeding Rs. 12,00,000 per annum shall be eligible to apply for loans under this scheme for undertaking courses within India. In the event that a brother or sister of the applicant is also pursuing studies at higher/technical education level (whether or not such sibling has applied for, or availed, loan under this scheme), the eligibility limit for family income will be raised to Rs. 13,00,000 per annum. In case of entitled fees beyond Rs. 1 lakh; relaxation of upto Rs. 1.00 lakh in the income ceiling may be granted by the Government on case to case basis.
  • b)For pursuing higher or technical education in an institution located outside India, the family income limit for eligibility to apply for loans will be Rs. 20,00,000 per annum. In the event that a brother or sister of the applicant is also pursuing studies at higher/technical education level within India or abroad (whether or not such sibling has applied for, or availed loan under this scheme), the relevant eligibility limit for family income shall be raised to Rs. 23,00,000 per annum. In case of entitled fees beyond Rs. 6 lakhs; relaxation of upto Rs. 1.00 lakh in the income ceiling may be granted by the Government on case to case basis.

Approved Courses:-

The following conditions must be fully met:
1. The course requires full time attendance.
2. The entitled Fees payable to the institution for undertaking the course should be at least ₹10,000/- per annum.
3. The course is recognized by any of the following institutions/authorities:
  • University Grants Commission (UGC)
  • All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE)
  • Medical Council of India (MCI)
  • Dental Council of India (DCI)
  • Architectural Council of India (ACI)
  • Board of Technical Education, Goa
  • Any other recognizing authority approved by Government of India or Government of Goa or any other State Governments in the union of India.
4. In respect of educational courses offered by institutions located outside India:

Only the Top 500 Universities of the world or Top 100 Universities in a particular continent shall be considered for the courses that are ordinarily not available in India.

Scholarship to persons with Disabilities studying from 9th standard onwards

Objective:-

  • The objective of the scheme is to encourage Students with Disabilities to pursue Higher Education, Technical Education and Professional Training which would enable them to overcome financial obstacles that prevent them from pursuing higher education.

Eligibility:-

(i) The student must be a regular student of a recognized Board of Education or University.

(ii) The scholarship is also extended to students pursuing Music and Vocational Courses through recognized Board of Education or University.

(iii) Scholarship is open to students with benchmark disability (40% or more disability) as defined under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

(iv) The combined annual income of the family should not exceed Rs. 8,00,000/- (Rupees Eight Lakhs only).

(v) The student should not be in receipt of any other scholarship from any other source.

(vi) If a family has more than one child with disabilities, both shall be eligible for scholarship under this scheme, subject to fulfillment of all other conditions.

(vii) The student must possess:
  • UDID Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Bank Passbook (Bank account should be Aadhaar seeded)
(viii) The Student shall not be eligible for the grant of Scholarship if he/she happens to be a repeater in a particular standard. However the failure can be condoned at the discretion of the Director.

(ix) The student should be studying a full-time or correspondence course in a recognized educational institution affiliated to a Board/University, Music Course in an institution affiliated to a University or an organization approved by the State or Central Government or as trainee in a recognized institution or commercial/industrial establishment approved by the Central/State Government.

(x) Student with Disabilities who is in receipt of assistance for free boarding and lodging facilities from any Voluntary or State source will be eligible for the scholarship as applicable to the day scholar, provided he or she had paid tuition fees.

(xi) Student with Disabilities who are under any scheme of the Central/State Government has received craft training free of cost, or undergone a course of general education free of cost will be eligible for consideration for scholarship for higher technical training or higher education. The students who want to go in for academic courses after doing craft training and vice-versa shall not however, be considered for scholarship.

Objective:-

  • The objective of this scheme is to encourage students with disabilities to pursue education by providing financial assistance in the form of stipends. This assistance helps them overcome economic barriers that might otherwise prevent them from attending school.

Eligibility:-

i. The student must be a regular student of a recognized school.

ii. Combined Income Certificate issued by Competent Authority not exceedingRs. 8,00,000/- per annum.

iii. The student should not be receipt of any other stipend from other source.

iv.If a family has more than one Child with Disabilities, all will be eligible for the grant of stipend under this scheme subject to the conditions that other conditions under these scheme are fulfilled.

v. Stipend is open to students with benchmark disability i.e40% or more disability as defined in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

vi. The student must possess a UDID Card, Aadhaar Card and Bank Passbook (Bank account should be Aadhaar seeded).

vii. The Student shall not be eligible for the grant of stipend if he/she happens to be a repeater in a particular standard. However the failure can be condoned at the discretion of the Director.

Is it mandatory to apply for Centrally Sponsored Post Matric Scheme to avail State Sponsored Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana Scheme ? Both the Schemes are Separate and there is no dependency.
